The greatest disease risk to your family is malaria. Other illnesses include hepatitis A and B and all the common childhood infectious illnesses that your son has fortunately already been immunised against. There is a low risk of sleeping sickness in some parts of Siere Leone. It would really be a good idea to consult a travel clinic in your area for comprehensive advice and also possibly any additional vaccinations that may be recommended. You will get advice about malaria prevention.
