Ringworm on the scalp is very common in young children but difficult to treat. Creams and ointments will not help. The only effective way to treat ringworm on the scalp is to take a medicine by mouth called GRISEOFULVIN SYRUP,the dose is 250mg once daily for 6 WEEKS! You will need a prescription for the Greofulvin Syrup.
Your son's bad breath may come from mouth breathing due to having a blocked nose or tooth decay or be due to tonsil or throat infection. As you will need a prescription for the Griseofulvin, you can take your son to the doctor at the same time in order for your doctor to decide why your son has bad breath at such a young age.
