Q.

removal of adenoids

Hi Doc
My 6yr old has to have her adenoids removed as its big and it causes her to snore. Her tonsils are red but not inflamed, and she never really had a bad case of tonisillitis. Would you recommend her having them removed aswell?

It is almost certainly not necessary for your daughter to have her tonsils removed as she has hardly ever had tonsillitis. The ENT surgeon will assess her tonsils while she is under the aneasthetic for the removal of her adenoids and he will be able to decide whether it is necessary or not to remove them.
