Removal of adenoids

Good day.
My 5 year old son has so much phlem on his chest his nose is always blocked, he coughs so much at night- I assume this is from his post nasal drip. He has been on antoibiotics every month-yet nothing seems to work.
He is on nutrimune mutivitamin but still his immune system is so weak.
His paediatrician suggested we have his adenoids removed...I need a second opinion as this is serious it would obviously involve surgery...

It is very possible that your son has enlarged adenoids which are causing his symptoms. He would benefit from having them removed if this is required. The operation itself is not a major operation and he should be in and out of the hospital on the same day. First you would need the opinion of an ENT specialist as to whether he really needs this operation.
