Q.

Reflux baby

My 8 week baby is on Zantac and Buscopan fir reflux. I put her on Nan from 4 weeks on...it made her constipated. Then I put her on Novalac and the constipation cleared up nicely but now reflux seems to be a problem. I know Novalac makes a formula for reflux but paed said that one might constipate her again due to the thickening corn starch in it so now i alternate between normal Novalac and constipation Novalac (IT). My question is: Has Novalac brought on the reflux OR would it have happened anyway even if my child stayed on Nan????

Reflux is very common in babies affecting as many as 60% or more of babies in the first 6 months of life. The Novalac formula is definitely not the cause of her reflux. You are using a very good combination of formulas for your baby.
