reflux and feeding problems

My baby is almost 4 weeks old. He is on NAN Pelargon, my dr told me to put him on that after he was on NAN 1, but he was very constipated. He is taking Pegicol with every feed and it helps. He started bringing up milk and had some discomfort after feeds. I phoned my dr and told him about the symptoms - he prescribed meds for reflux (Nexiam, Ulsanic and Motilium). I started the meds on Monday afternoon. So, he' s been on it for one full day and today would be the second day. How fast will these meds start to work. Before he did not vomitt frequently, but this morning he did vomitt while he was sleeping.
Other problem I have is that he swallows a lot of air when drinking. I give him the Telemant colic drops, but he really struggles to bring out winds and he has cramps really bad. I sit with him for 30 minutes plus after each feed and most of the time he does not bring out any wind. He then falls asleep on my shoulder and I lay him in his cot. After a while he will have discomfort and when I pick him up, no wind.
Is there anything else I can give him for cramps etc.? He sometimes stays awake at the night time feeds for 2 - 3 hours because of that. And then I can' t get him to sleep.

Your baby is still very young and you are really battling at this stage. It is difficult to know what the underlying problem is without being able to examine your baby, but he appears to have a milk intolerance or allergy. He cannot be on all of these medicines at the age of 4 weeks and in any case they are not helping him at all.Try him on Similac Alimentum and see if he can tolerate this formula and if he is happier on this special milk allergy formula.Let me know what happens and I will advise you further if needed.

hi, i am not a doctor but have some advice, don' t put your baby down without rubbing out his winds after a feed, my boy also had reflux (we only realised this after he was 1 year old) and the pead gave him a pink pill (don' t know if this can be given to such small babies) which i had to cut in half and disolve in water for 3 months, he hardly ever bring up his food/drink now, although he is one year and seven months now, i also struggled with mine like this, he is also allergic to cows milk, if he get' s too much cows milk products in he throws up, but i found the pelargon together with colic meds worked best for his cramps, you can put your baby on his stomach on a pillow on your knees and rub his back and ' boudjies' , or rub his stomach in slow circular movements, it seems the warmth makes the cramps better, but don' t induce to much meds, dis upsets them. i hope this helps.
