Q.

Reflux

Hi,

My son of 2 months has reflux. Everyone has different advise and I don''t know what to believe anymore!

My child is using Nexiam and is on NAN AR, but don''t seem to like the bottle drinking and milk so much! I''ve heard of Nestargel and Pelargon milk! What is this Pelargon milk and does it work for reflux because everybody seems to have a different opinion about this milk!? Which is best - NAN AR / other milk with Nestargel in???

This is an important question. Your baby does not like the NAN AR formula because it has already been thickened and babies find it a bit more difficult to feed from the bottle on this kind of milk. There will be no benefit in using any other formula and thickening it yourself with Nestargel. Nexiam is an excellent medicine for reducing your baby's stomach acid, but will not stop his actual reflux from happening.<br>In view of your baby's difficulty or dislike of the NAN AR type thickened formula you could try him on regular NAN1 and just continue to give him the Nexiam every day.

Sorry but I still want to know what the Pelargon milk is? What does acidified mean and why does it work for some reflux babies?

Thanks for the advise! Just one more question! He''s not just on NAN AR I also breastfeed him (just give him bottle when reflux is bad the day and before bed in night)! I don''t want to take him off breastmilk but is it best for him with his reflux, should he rather drink bottle like everyone is telling me?
