Q.

Reflux

Hi Doc. Happy New year. MY daughter is 5 weeks old and was diagnosed with reflux. The dr prescribed Losec 1/2 tanlet a day. It is a lot beter but she still seems to be in pain. It looks like cramps. Someone suggested that i give Babasuur which is Magnesium Hidoksied. She seems a lot beter when I give it to her. They sy you can give it 3 times a day but I give it maybe once a day. They also say not to use it for more than 10 days. Would you suggest that I keep on giving it or give buscopan or give some panado?

It appears that your baby has two problems at present. She has reflux and is on the correct treatment for this. She also seems to have colic and she should respond well to using Buscopan for her colic. Do not give her the magnesium hydroxide nor Panado which is not the treatment for colic.
