Refer to post 1800 - high fevers

HI Doc,

They have checked her urine for UTI' s and its normal. We have sent sputum away for testing etc and it all comes back fine.

Please would you tell me more bout Brucellosis and toxoplasmosis as i have googled it but my daugther has none of the symptoms shown on google besides fevers.

She has no swollen glands etc.

She does has slightly swollen and reddened eyelids and darkish rings under her eyes. And she has started to cough now.

We had her at the pead yesterday again and again the doctor says nothing is wrong.

I have now made an appointment to see Dr Kriel at Clinton Hospital as i believe she is a specialist in allergies etc. And I' m hoping that a pair of fresh eyes helps us find the problem and solution for our daughter.

But we can only see her on 2 March 2010. So we have another month of very high fevers to go through.

I really wish kids came with an instruction manual ha ha would be so much easier wouldn' t it.

Thanking you in advance for your opinion and advice.

I am not happy for you to wait for 1 month before your daughter is seen about her fever.Allergies do not cause a fever.Try and get an earlier appointment with Dr Martin Davis if you can.He practices at the Linksfield Park Clinic.
I would rather not discuss the various illnesses that may cause a persistent high fever in a young child as your daughter probably does not have any of them and you will only worry more.
