Hi doc,

Sorry you going to pull your hair out most probably seeing my name again.

SO i had a bit of a haffy fit with my daughters pead on Wednesday and took her back to him yesterday for another check up - another R600 later.

And now he diagnosed her as having pneumonia and has admitted her straight away. She is on oxygen as her SATS are ony 84 and is on IV AB' s etc.

Her infection count is apparently very high - dont know the exact reading.

I have been taking her to the pead since Jan 2ce a week cause of her fevers and only now do they say its the pneumonia

How for over a month do they not pick it up.

The x-rays show the pneumonia all over her lungs, and it is even " constricted"  to a few areas in her lungs - the pead now says she is very sick.

and he says this type of pneumonia can set in within 6 hours - is this true?

I am so so angry right now.

A child does not run a very high fever for so long for no reason. It is unlikely given the history of your daughter's fever for such a long time that the pneumonia only started 6 hours beforehand. I am please that a diagnosis has at last been made and that your daughter has now be put on the correct treatment.
