Q.

Red mark upper leg

Dear Doc

My daughter is 2 and a half. I noticed last night that she has a red mark on her leg (between groin and knee). It appears to be a bit inflamed. At first galnce it may look like a burn (but it is not). I''m also not sure that it could be an insect bite. She is at a little pre-primary school every morning until 12pm.

She has not complained about any pain / itching.

Should I have it seen to by a Doctor?

Thank you

This sounds like a spider bite. The bite does need to be watched and if it increases in size or becomes warmer than the surrounding area then she must be seen by a doctor. It would be best to apply Bactroban ointment twice daily to the bite.
