Dear Prof

What Natasha means is can the pea> > > , ie bird with the beautiful tail feathers, carry diseases that may harm her 14 yo daughter.

Thanks for clearing this up. It is possible that a peacock may carry and transmit infection. In particular birds may carry bacteria called salmonella that can cause severe diarrhoea and dysentery in people who may forget to wash their hands after handling this type of bird.
