RE: POST 1938

Good day , doc. Tried baby on S26 gold after consulting his doc as well. Milk challenge was unsuccessful, baby started having loose stools again . Should the lactose intolerance tests be repeated? I put him immediately back on the Isomil. Any other suggestions for him to gain weight? He loves to eat but i know that milk is essential in his diet and i even cut down to giving him cereal once a day instead of twice and a Purity fruit or veg at other times.

You do not need to repeat the lactose intolerance tests because your baby cannot tolerate milk as you have seen with this milk challenge.Possibly as a result of his intolerance, his diet seems to be limited. The Isomil should be adequate as his formula and is supplemented with calcium. The problem lies with his solids which do not seem to be enough for him.Follow the recommendations on this website for feeding him his solids: www.babynet.co.za
