Re: Post 1838 Unexplained diarrhoea

Thank you for your reply, i also suspect my baby has perhaps developed lactose intolerance , stool was not sent for testing, suprapubic urine done by Paediatrician on 18/09 for UTI - NAD
Baby now on Lactose free milk for a week , Flagyl 1,5ml dly 5/7 prescribed ,diarrhoea resolved on 19/09 , passed normal stool once daily since then, afraid to go back onto normal Nan at the end of the week. I did have my baby at a creche when the diarrhoea started - stopped creche immediately now with gran Do you think i should go back onto Nan 1 or try a soy based milk. I' ve heard that it should preferably be started after 6 months- is it true? Do I have to wean him onto Nan 1 again like i did with the LF milk eg 25mls Nan LF with 75mls Nan1? Kindly offer your advice.

Thanks for letting me know about your baby. I am pleased that his diarrhoea is finally over. Your baby will benefit from going onto a soya formula now as he will almost certainly have lactose intolerance for a while. It is often necessary to use a soya formula before 6 months when there is no alternative formula which will suit your baby.
