Re post 1226

Thanx Dr ...Yes, me and my lovely son did go to Dr R Green....We waited 5 hours on the floor next to the elevator to see him! He did the SPT....all except the grass and moulds were negative. He just said my son doesn' t suffer from any food allergies and that we must go home and start eating everything as if he has never been allergic. He said that he thinks it is food intollerance rather than allergies.....But this was just to radical for me....Why then does he vomits 10-20 minutes after eating chutny or porridge with flovouring in it...Why does he sometimes gets hives on his face after eating porridge, starts caughing and sneezing after eating wheat....ect. He also said that it is the EA that makes him sick....Sorry, I don' t want to sound negative or critical, he is a wonderfull dr....I just sometimes feel overwhelmed with this allrgy thing.....

Your son does need further testing for food allergies, of this there is no doubt. You are in a bit of a difficult situation as you have seen Prof Green already and the tests were not done.Try and see Prof Green again and tell him very clearly about these reactions to foods that you have noticed. If you cannot get an appointment you are entitled to a second opinion and it would be a good idea if you could get to see Dr Urquart.
