hi doc, we have taken him to a pead allergy specialist, she ran all the tests but couldn' t find anything, we don' t know what to do anymore,I am well aware of the dangers involved but we' ve hit a brick wall. will change to zyrtec syrup. also he has eaten nothing out of the ordinary,in fact with each episode there has been no common factor? he' s been in and out of hospital since birth for other problems as well, any suggestions would b helpful. thanks again

Your child is at risk of anaphylaxis. We must make every effort to find a cause for this. Did the allergist test for preservatives especially sodium benzoate and also unusual foods such as sesame seed as just one example? There is also an inherited form of this problem which needs to be tested for. It is called Heriditary angioedema and is due to a deficiency of C1 esterase [complement] in the blood. Please go back to the allergist and request these additional tests and also the necessary emergency tretament that you should always carry with you.In the meantime keep up with the Zyrtec syrup.
