re.: niggly and grumpy baby

I desperately need advice. My baby boy is 2 months old but so grumpy and niggly, i know he is a little spoilt but when i put him down on his own he just cries, i have found when I give him Bennetts colic mixture he calms down, he is a happy baby but sleeps alot even if I give it once a day. Is there anything else I can give him to calm him down? He sleeps well at night normally. I just want a happy baby.

It seems that your baby is having typical colic. This is a very common problem in babies under 3 months of age. Bennett's colic remedy is very popular and effective in treating colic. Many mothers believe that Gripe Water is equally effective. The good news is that your baby should soon grow out of this problem.

Babies can''t be spoilt. Their need to be held is instinctual. They don''t know we don''t still live in caves and they won''t be eaten by a wild animal if you put them down. When you put them down, to them it feels like a matter of life and death. You can''t spoil with love - only with material things.

Many mothers find that using some kind of sling or baby carrier helps, as they can still get on with things with two hands free while keeping baby close to them and meeting babies comfort needs - and comfort is a need in babies.
