Re: Nappy rash

Hi Doctor

I posted below on my daughters nappy rash and you replied and said it could be zinc deficiency or something else..

Just to explain the situation even further as i do not have means to see a doctor at the moment.
Firstly i did not use anything on the rash,i continued using the bennets bum cream..the area is happened when she was left for long with a wet dyper..the area is still red but i applied mylorcort over the weekend n it looks much better now..

I want to know which signs i should looks for if a child has zinc deficiency?what causes it.

You do not need to be concerned about a possuble zinc deficiency as her rash has cleared with the Mylocort. This would not happen with a zinc deficiency where the nappy rash is extremely severe and often accompanied by a rash around the mouth as well.
