re: dry cough since birth

Hi doc, my little girl is now 4 months old and ever since she was born she has had a cough (like a fake sounding one) just before she cried. She still coughs now but there is no wetness in the sound just dry and she will just cough once. Last week though i was bathing her and she sounded very weezy because she gets excited in the bath.

What could be causing this and is it in reason to worry? Also will a humidifier help?

Paediatrician

There must be a reason why your baby has this cough and especially why it has been present since birth. There are several possible causes for this and these causes need to be carefully excluded. It would be in your baby's best interests for her to be seen by a paediatric pulmonologist right from the start.
