Re: 1 yo red large tonsils and fever

Dear Prof

Just a quick follow-up. I took my son the dr last Friday, and he had an upper (sinus and throat tonsils) and lower respiratory tract infection (lots of crackling bilaterally in lungs). With this little guy I find it difficult to judge when he''s really sick as he is always but always cheerful. So unfortunately no roseola, and a course of antibiotics needed. Best regards!

Seeing as your baby does not have any sinuses formed yet at his age, he cannot have sinusitis.It is also most odd that he was not coughing and was quite happy,yet he was found to have quite a severe chest infection.Crackles in the chest are a sign of pneumonia.All very confusing.Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
