Q.

Raw Potates

For the last couple of weeks, my son, who is 15 months, walks past the veggie rack &  grabs raw potatoes and takes a couple of small bites out of it, he seems to enjoy it. Should I be worried?

For some reason some little boys eat or should I say like to eat raw potatoes. This does not seem to worry or affect them in any way. Do not let him eat any potatoes which have a green colour as these have a toxic substance called 'solanine', but he would have to eat about 4kg of green potatoes before this would cause any harm.

Just for interest. I also love raw potatoes. Never liked apples, but love potatoes. Whenever I make any type of potato I always eat some of the raw ones. Yum
