Good day,
I am fostering a baby girl born at 32 weeks ( hospital estimate)
She was abandoned after birth and spent a momth in hospital.
We received her at two months weighing 2kg.
She is going to be one year at the end of September.
She eats and sleeps well and weighs almost 11kg.
However she is not crawling. She sits well since about seven and a half months. She will go from a sit postition onto her tummy and roll to where she wants to be.
Do prem babies develop slower?

It is not that premature babies develop slower as such but you have to make allowances for their prematurity. So you have to correct your baby's age allowing for her 8 weeks prematurity. So in effect she is only 10 months old as regards her devlopment now. She should only start crawling now but many babies skip crawling altogether and go on to start walking without ever crawling. Your baby actually sat a bit earlier than expected after correcting her age for her prematurity.
