Q.

Rash

Dr, my son who is a mild food and environmental allergy sufferer has suddenly developed a tiny rash, looks like little red patches and dots on his back and behind his ears and around his neck. He didn' t eat anything new, but he has been swimming and ' tanning'  in the sun(just lying in the sun to dry). I didn' t put any new tanlotion on, so it can' t be a reaction to that....My question is: Can the sun cause a rash and my second question....My mom says that people with Rh negative blood (like my son) musn' t go into the sun to mutch? Thanx

The blood group story is without any foundation and can be ignored. Many children do in fact become allergic to suntan lotions and it can be a big problem finding one which they can tolerate. Annique Salons sell a children's suntan lotion which contains rooibos and seems to be less allergenic than most other brands.
