Q.

Raised rash on elbows and behind knees

Hi

Please could you help? I have a 5 year old son that has recently broken out in a very red raised rash in 2 areas, one behind both knees and also on the inner elbow. Strangely enough it is only on one of the inner elbows and behind both knees, the elbow is worse than behind the knees. He does scratch the area as he complains it is itchy. It is hard to describe how it looks but there are a number of little red bumps in those particular areas, it has not spread anywhere other than where it has been all along. I have not changed his diet, washing powders, soap, we do not have any animals in the house basically nothing has changed. A local pharmacist suggested that it could be an allergy to a dairy product however i have not changed any products. He eats alot of chocolate pronutro, I thought the milk in that could have created a problem but i have not changed the milk, etc. He has no allergies known and is on no medication.
Hoping to hear your advise soon.
Thank you

This rash is eczema. Please take your son to be seen and treated by a paediatrician with an interest in paediatric allergy.
