It is difficult to be sure about your baby's tongue without being able to see him. Sometimes this colour cahange is caused by biting the tongue or by a medicine that he may have taken, but there are other causes in particular a condition called 'methaemoglobinaemia'. This may be an inherited condition in which there is a problem with oygen transport in the blood. It would be best to ask your paediatrician to see your baby if he still has this discolouration of his tongue.
