Q.

Puberty

Dear Doc

Can you please tell me when puberty starts normally in boys and what are the first signs. I have read a lot about precocious puberty on this site and just wondrered when puberty SHOULD start normally. I have boys so if you could specifically tell me about when it starts in boys I would appreciate it.

Thank you

Puberty apears to be starting earlier in most children than about 30 years ago. The reason for this not known. Puberty usually begins in boys at about the age of 12 years.Puberty is regarded as precocious puberty or very early puberty in boys if it starts at or before the age of 10 years.
