Q.

Problem with warts

Hi Doc, hope you''re doing great.
Last night I cut my 4 yr old sons fingernails and was shocked to find a tiny wart on one finger. It is black at the tip, so at first I thought it was a scab from an old scratch.
The problem is I have this problem myself, only on my fingers, and the warts grow over time. But the problem only started when I was about 20, I am now 34.
Could my son have got this from me?
How can I treat this, and prevent it coming back in future.
I really don''t want him to have this problem as it is very embarassing for me as it is.

Many thanks - R

Thank you. You are correct, your son has probably caught the warts from you as warts are caused by a virus infection. It would be best to take your son to see a dermalologist as it is important that an expert treats the wart/s before they spread further.Perhaps the dermatologist can help you at the same time.
