Problem with Feet?

Hi Doc,

Our son is 15 months old and have been walking for about 2 months now. It seems however that his feet is " turned"  outward instead of pointing to the front.

My sister was the first to notice once he started walking that he walked a bit odd, we thought it was just because he is still a bit unstable when walking. This week however my dad noticed that he falls over his own feet on a regular basis, as if he " trips"  himself.

I had a good look at the way he stands &  walks and it seems like his feet is turned outward even if he just stands.

I myself had to wear some sort of plastic heal in my shoes when I was about 3 years old since I walked in a similar way. Now I''m wondering if it''s possible for him to have the same problem as I had?

Is it something to be conserned about? Should I maybe take him to our doctor just to make sure everythings allright?

This is extremely common in babies who are just starting to walk. In almost all children who start to walk with their feet turned outwards this comes right by itself with time. So do not worry at this stage, but wait and see how your baby son gets on with his walking. If he is still walking like this after he is 18 to 20 months old then ask your paediatrician to see him.
