Q.

Prem Baby

Dear Doctor
Is it normal for a 9 week premature baby to struggle to latch onto mothers nipples even though he is now two months old but is still not opening his gums to allow his mum to feed him properly whether with a bottle or the breast.
Feeding times have become quite a strenous stressful task for the mum and baby is still under 3kg in weight.
Who can she go to for advice?

In fact it is essential for mother and baby to attend the nearest baby clinic where expert advice is available.
