Potty training difficulties

HI all. My 3 and a half year old refuses to poo in the toilet, simply saying ï t doesn''t work"  and will insist on having a nappy. He is otherwise perfectly potty trained, even at night. What should I try?

This is a very common problem indeed.First give him at least 1 full week free from any potty training with not a word mentioned about potty training. Then start again. You can try a reward system using a star chart. Read about how to use this on Google. You will also find much good advice about potty training on Google.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have since progressed to getting him to stand in the bathroom even though he has a nappy on. I have read that this may progress to sitting onto the potty and eventually removing the nappy altogether. HOpefully we''ll make progress in the coming months.
