Potty training at 4

My daughter is turning 5 early next year and has no problem making a whee in the toilet, but when it comes to making a poo, she wants a nappy on, and she hides in the bathroom while doing it. She has a potty, but doesn' t want to sit on it.
We have tried all kinds of advice, but it doesn' t help.
We are trying to get worried, since she is almost 5.
Please help!

She is certainly taking a long time to be potty trained. She will be going to school soon so you do have a problem. Give her a complete break off all potty training for 2 weeks-do not even mention the word. Start again after the break. She is old enough to sit on the toilet now. The best plan forward is to use a star reward system. If she gets something right then she gets a start on a chart and lots of praise. For every 3 stars in a row she gets a small reward. Then extend the reward period to only after 5 stars. Lots of praise and no negative words and criticism are the keys to success.
