Q.

Post nasal Drip

Hi Doc

I have a 18 month old how always gets sick maybe every 2-3 weeks. Its always starts with bad breath and then runny nose, wheezy chest and then cough especially at night when he lay down. He then coughs until he vomits. Is that because of post nasal drip? What can I use for this. He also takes Flixotide twice a day for the next 6 months.

Its sounds like it really hurts when he coughs.

Also Doc he was prescribed Preflam. What is this for, I have read that it has steriods in it. Should I give it to him now.

It sounds as if your son has problems with repeated tonsil and adenoid infections. It would be best for him to be seen by an ENT specialist about this. Preflam is a cortisone medicine and you should not use it unless there is a good reason which your doctor must explain to you.
