Post 507 stomach bug

Hi Doc. My son has mostly stopped vomitting and the diahorrea. His fever is only 38. He has not wanted much to drink and only took sips of water when I asked him. He has spent most of the day sleeping and then he started to have hallucinations - he had 2 ''episodes'' in 2 hours. He has some signs of dehydration - only weed once today, dry skin and dry mouth and lips - but his skin does not do the fold thingie. I gave him another 20ml of fluid and also gave him a dose of nurofen. His temp has now gone down now - an hour later and he is alert. If he is not losing more fluids by vomitting etc, and keep getting few sips of fluid, will he recover by himself or do I need to still have him checked out. The hallicinations were very frightening t me. He has had much higher fever before so I thiking it is more the dehydration. I actually phoned his pead because he looked so sick to me, but he was in theatre and now he looks better again, so I feel like I am panicking for nothing. Please give me some advise on when to take him to the dr.
