Hi Doc

My 16 month old has a cold and with that always he starts with a wheezy cough especially at night. As soon as he lay down he begins to cough and can'  t sleep and pukes his milk.

I have tried using his ashavent inhaler it stops the wheeze but not the cough and Im using flusin syrup and salex for the cold. I have heard about Aterax syrup and Phenergan Elixir that helps with these types of coughs. What is your recommendation.

Your baby has whooping cough. Aterax would be a good choice to stop the cough, but must only be given at night.

Hi DOc

I just found out that you need a presciption for aterax. IS here something that is the same as Aterax where I don' t need a script. I was told that allegex is good but I don' t like giving him such harsh med.

Do not use Allergex. You do need a prescription for Aterax. Ask your GP to prescibe Aterax Syrup 2.5ml at night for your baby.
