Q.

Post 1073...again

I have been exclusively breastfeeding my baby, she weighed 3.24 at birth and weighed 4.6 at her 6 week vaccination (I' m not sure how much she weighs now but she is definitely gaining weight)
Most nights she sleeps OK and only wakes up for feeds but like last night, she was awake from 12h30 - it' s 8:30 now and she STILL hasn' t slept. She is miserable but doesn' t seem to be in pain. When I try to get her to sleep though she ' fights'  - wriggles and screams. She falls asleep in my arms but as soon as I put her down she' s awake
She takes a bit longer to burp than other babies (my cousin has twins who burp after the first pat) but I do make sure that I burp her properly
I' m really desperate as I don' t get much done around the house because I' m always trying to get her to sleep!

It is obvious that something is worrying your baby. Her weight seems to be right for her age. You mention that she fights when you try to put her down to sleep. This may be because she has acid reflux which is causing her discomfort. Please ask your paediatrician to see her.
