possible meningitis

please give me advise on my 3 year old baby. in the beginning of February he was admitted to hospital with propable meningitis. blood samples was taken 24 hours after initial diagnosis and i only got the results back 3 weeks later that only said it was a virus but no meningitis. he is constantly complaining of severe headaches, vomiting and high fever. please i am not sure if it is just flu or definately meningitis. is there any other way of testing for meningitis besides the lumberpunch method.

I am very concerned about your son's symptoms. These symptoms strongly suggest that he has meningitis or some other illness such as a cerebral abscess. It is absolutely essential that he is examined by a paediatrician immediately. Please let me know what happens.

Hi Nicolene, please get your child to the hospital A.S.A.P. so that they can take a look at whats wrong.Saturday 07/03/09 A friend of mine at work, his baby cousin( 9-10 years of age) from Eldorado Park got the same symptoms.........her hands started swelling as well, she never made it. Please dont take this for granted, it could be an emergency..................
