poor eater

Hi doc! My 18month old baby girl has always been a poor eater. I''ve tried everything but she just doesn''t seem to be bothered with food. She''s healthy &  normal. There are moments when she''s niggly due to being hungry. She''s breastfed &  I''ve really cut down on feeding so she can have a better apetite. Any advise on how to increase her apetite? It gets really frustrating for me, pls help.

What is needed here is your daughter's weight in order to see if there is a problem or not. Many children eat a lot less in their second year of life and this is usually just a temporary stage.Your daughter seems to be quite happy with her breast milk and this could well be filling her up. I note that you have reduced her milk intake.Always offer her food before giving her any milk. She may be a bit young still but it would be worth trying to let her join the family at mealtimes.Let her try to feed herself with a spoon. She will watch you eat and will try to copy you. Do not watch her while she is eating.
