Q.

Pneumonia

Dear Doc

A while ago my son got pneumonia - I waited quite long before seeking medical advise and felt terrible afterwards. He has now gotten another bout of infection. He is coughing a lot and his chest is tight and wheezy (I am currently sick with the same symptoms - so I am reasonably sure the wheeze is not due to asthma). He does NOT have a fever and is appetite is normal. At which point do I take him to the docktor ?

Thank you
BMJ

Your son seems to be short of breath and is coughing a lot and is wheezy. He probably has a viral illness called bronchiolitis. He should be seen by his doctor now especially as he recently was treated for pneumonia.
