Q.

Pleasssse help so worried

My grandson is one month old and contract the dirotos virus (not sure of spelling) and is in hospital at the moment his imuun system is totaly down because of the virus and today he has this very high fewer he is on a drip at the moment, will he get better or is this a very dangerous sikness I am so worried please give some advise

I presume that you mean Rotavirus infection.This virus causes quite severe vomiting and diarrhoea in infants especially during the winter months.This illness may be quite severe especially in very young babies. The illness usually lasts for 7 to 10 days but often leads to a period of temporary lactose intolerance afterwards.With adquate fluid and electrolyte treatment that I am sure your baby grandson is sreceiving,he should recover fully.
