Please help

My baby boy is 5 weeks old and has stomach problems. Last night again most the night he was screaming and crying in agony pushing as if to get something out. His last poo was between 5 &  6 last night and hasnt had another poo since (is now 8:11am). I have rubbed his rummy clockwise, layed him face down on my knees rubbing and patting his back. Gave him warm water with some brown sugar last night. My doctor prescribed lactulose at 4 weeks, but that seemed to make him irritable. His poo use to be like a pumpkin colour and is now more times than none green in colour. He is breast fed, but now doesnt want to feed propoerly as he spits the milk out because he is trying to push so hard. You can see he is in pain. What can i do to help him. The problem seems to occur more from about 3 in the afternoon and gets worse at night then he sleeps uncomfotably and screams in his sleep because he is pushing. Hope that you can help me. Thank you

It is unuusal for a baby who is breastfed to be constipated. Are you sure that he is not having any formula as well? He is not doing well on the lactulose which should be stopped. Also you should not give him any water and sugar. He may have a problem with colic. The only unusual thing is that he is pushing all the time which may simply be due to all the lactulose he is having. Only breast feed him and give him an anti-colic treatment such as Bennet's anti-colic remedy and see if he settles down.. He only needs to pass one stool a day now.

Could be bad wind caused by lacotse intollerance or milk allergy, my baby had the same.
