My son is almost 2, and attends day-care during the week, so change has always been easy with him. I moved him to his own room when he was 20mths (and so late because I couldn' t let go), cos he was getting naughty. It was scary for me, but from the first night he slept beautifully. He now only takes a bottle before bed at night, I will get him off the bottle after he turns two, and hopefully the cup will be more exciting then. In the morning he gets all excited to have his milo (' baby' s coffee' ) in a mug just like mummy' s or daddy' s, so you might try this. Be warned, they do tend to be unsteady and mess a lot, but it' s the only way they will learn. Good luck. They need our guidance and patience in everything, as everything is a learning and growing experience now.
