Q.

Pimples on baby

Hi Doctor,

My little 3 month old boy has pimples on his fingers, feet and head which come and go. At times he scratches but sometimes they just appear. The weird thing is that they only appear on those areas of his body and not anywhere else. What could be causing this and what can I buy to treat them?

This sounds like Scabies which is caused by an organism that burrows into the skin.Treating a baby this young is very difficult. You will need to apply Sulphur ointment 5%. Speak to your pharmacist. You must use a hot iron and iron all your baby's clothing and bedding.

Thanks so much doctor - I' ll take him with me to the pharmacy and get him the ointment! Much appreciated!
