Pimple-like bumps around head scar

Dear Pead

I wrote to you a few weeks ago after my 4.5 yo son had an accident which required sutures on his forehead. The cuts have healed, but are still quite red which I guess is still inflammation. The one that worries me is the one above his left eye in the centre of his forehead - above the cut the skin feels very uneven and has little bumps almost like pimples. They were there just after the sutures were removed, but appear to be getting worse. We are applying micropore tape to the scars upon instruction of our paed and plastic surgeon. Could it have anything to do with that? It almost also looks like ''gravel'' that is trying to push through the skin. Any advise will be much appreciated, thanks.

These little pimples are almost certainly the places where your son had the sutures. These raised areas may persist for a while. As long as they are not infected then all should be well. Rub Bio-oil into the scar area twice a day.
