Q.

Pica?

dear Paed

Yet another question - I told the doc last night that my son (the one who ate the Toilet Duch gel) tends to eat everything in sight, from cat food pellets, to insects, to leaves, to paper, you name it he eats it. Doc then said it could be pica indicating anemia?? whats your take on that?

Your doctor is correct, pica is usually a sign of iron deficiency and this in turn can lead to one form of anemia. Your son should have a blood test for possible anaemia.
