Q.

Persitant cough

My 8 year old son has had a cough for 3 weeks now, he was treated 3 weeks ago with orelox, which didn''t help.
His phlegm has blood in now and his cough is still bad. I am treating him with Demazin and Bisolvan Linctus.
Should I take him back to the doctor - I don''t want another course of antibiotics.

I am concerned that your son is coughing up some blood stained mucous. He may have a severe chest infection such as a pneumonia. He must be seen by a doctor or paediatrician as soon as possible.
