persistently swollen lymph node progressing

Dear Prof

I previously wrote about my 4 yo old son who had a 2 cm tonsillar lymph node for 2+ months. His CBC, CRP and reticuculocyte count came back normal. This was about 3 weeks ago. I checked the gland again, and it is now about 3 cm? He does have slight cold and is hoarse again. Still taking Avamys and Allecte (half a tablet at night). What is to be made of this?

Despite your son's blood counts being completely normal, I am concerned about the size of the enlarged lymph node in his neck. We live in a country with a high incidence of TB and it is important to be aware that the first sign of this illness may be swollen lymph nodes in the neck in children. So please go back to the doctor and make sure that there is nothing to be concerned about.
