Dear Doc,
My son is persistently coughing now for the past month with phelgm. took him 3 x to the paed. he is been nebulised with duolin. and i am using nasonex spray for the nose this past week as prscribed by the paed. also for the past week he was on a course of prelone. he was also receiving pysio but nothing seems to help the cough. his nose is still running and he is still coughing day and night with phelgm. he is 14 months old.pls help me. i am now at my wits end with the frequent vistis to the paed and the cost is R600 each visit which i really cna''t afford.he have no fever

Your son may have a problem with a persistent post nasal drip which is causing his cough and also all the mucous on his chest. Keep his nose clear by using Salex nose drops twice daily and give your son Mucospect also twice a day to help to clear his chest of mucous. Also nebulise him twice a day with the Duolin.
