Perhaps a silly question

This might be a silly question but I am just curious about something. I don''t buy jars of food. I rather cook and puree it myself. Every day I make fresh food for that day and any left overs are tossed out. *the perks of being a stay at home mom I guess*
My question is this: do I have to use fresh fruits? Can I cook up some canned fruits? Not all fruits (like peaches) are available through the year and I just want to know if it''s OK to cook up preserved fruits (canned or bottled). Or do they contain any harmful preservatives? I want my baby to get the best...and the freshest. That''s another reason why I don''t buy jars of food and I make it myself.

The canned or bottled fruits may not contain all the nutrients found in fresh fruit, especially vitamin C. It is always best where possible to use fresh fruit.
