Q.

Passing stools

My 2 year old son. is passing yellow, soft stools after each meal . I have stopped all dairy for the past 2 weeks He is also cutting the last few teeth and is also still active and drinking as normal but has had a slight decrease in appetite. He is also a chronic kidney patient and had just been discharged from hospital this past Sunday. He was on iv antibiotics(augmentin) cos he had to have some tests done. His doctor advised me to withold dairy as well and whilstt in hospital he passed stool only once or twice a day after stopping the dairy. He is on Reuteri ,Vit D and Enalapril 5 mg. What could be the problem? Is it the teething?l

This is not due to the teething. The most likely cause is the recent antibiotic.Using Reuterina is a good idea for 7 to 10 days. Stop all fruit juices in his diet as the natural fructose sugar can also cause his stools to be loose.
