Q.

passing stool

Hi Doc, my 9 month old boy is 8.6 kg. He is underweight, probably from vomitting after every feed for the last couple of months. He has not thrown up for about 2 weeks now, so I was hoping that his weight will pick up.

Now, he passes stool after every single feed, this is no exaggeration. Is this going to hinder his weight gain?

Your baby is indeed underweight for his age and his weight is in the lowest 10% group for all babies of 9 months. It sounds as if he has a refux problem which should be treated. You do not mention whether his stools are normal or watery now. His stools should also be tested when he is seen by the paediatrician.
